Task
The Society for the Anthropology of North America wanted a redesign of their HomeField website, a digital journal dedicated to fieldwork, commentary, and collaborative research. The journal needed a platform that was simple, tasteful, and easy to navigate — one that could handle long-form content and encourage exploration.
Approach
We designed a minimalist, content-focused layout that emphasised readability and discovery. The journal is structured by theme, with flexible templates for essays, interviews, and visuals. Clean typography, spacious layouts, and clear categories help orient readers, while the backend is optimised for publishing workflows and contributor access.
Outcome
The result is a modern, academic-yet-accessible platform that encourages deeper engagement with current topics in North America and beyond.
